Aftrer the victory of Kalush Orchestra in Turin last year, Ukraine should traditionally host the Eurovision Song Contest 2023. But due to Russia's invasion of the country, the contest cannot be held in Ukraine. Instead, the BBC will host Eurovision 2023 in the United Kingdom. This year’s Eurovision Song Contest 2023 will be hosted in Liverpool on behalf of 2022 winners Ukraine! The Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 will take place in the Liverpool Arena (next to the River Mersey) on Saturday 13 May with Semi-Finals on Tuesday 9 and Thursday 11 May.

The BBC has announced their full Eurovision presenting and commentary line-up for Liverpool 2023, which features Alesha Dixon, Graham Norton, Hannah Waddingham, and Julia Sanina as the Hosts for the Semi-Finals and Grand Final; as well as Mel Giedroyc, Rylan, Scott Mills, Claire Sweeney, Sam Quek and Timur Miroshnychenko. Presenting the Grand Final will be: Eurovision legend Graham Norton, award-winning Ukrainian singer, Julia Sanina (of The HARDKISS), internationally acclaimed musical theatre performer, three-time Olivier Award nominee and Emmy Award-winning actress, Hannah Waddingham, and the singer-songwriter, pop star and TV presenter, Alesha Dixon. Presenting the two live Semi-Finals from Liverpool will be the trio of musical superstars Julia, Hannah, and Alesha. The Semi-Finals are set to feature an array of Ukrainian and British stars, plus a galaxy of Eurovision Song Contest legends. The ‘Big Five’ (France, Germany, Spain, Italy and Host Country the United Kingdom), along with current champions Ukraine, will not perform in either of the Semi-Finals, but their domestic audiences will get to vote in one of them. The slogan is 'United By Music' demonstrating the unique partnership between the United Kingdom, Ukraine and Host City Liverpool to bring the Eurovision Song Contest to audiences across the globe and the incredible power of music to bring communities together. It also reflects the very origins of the Contest, developed to bring Europe closer together through a shared television experience across different countries.

Greece will be represented at the 2023 Eurovision Song Contest in Liverpool by Victor Vernicos with the song “What They Say". 16-year-old Victor Vernicos is Greece’s youngest ever representative at the Eurovision Song Contest. The Athenian singer/songwriter will perform What They Say when he takes to the big stage in Liverpool. Greece will perform in the Second Semi-Final, at the 2023 Eurovision Song Contest. Though still a teenager, Victor’s already well on course to become an accomplished musician; he started playing piano at 4 and guitar at 10, has attended Music Technology courses, and is having vocal lessons.

Being in the audience of the Eurovision Song Contest, while Europe and the world are watching, is an experience of a lifetime!
