There is a “good read” saying that "when Mohammed does not go to the mountain, then the mountain goes to Mohammed"! So...when you don't go to Istanbul, Istanbul comes to you! "Hayat Mikri Poli", the new café-bar-restaurant recently opened in Thessaloniki downtown, brings us flavors, aromas, colors and scents from Istanbul. Its owner is Serhat, a Kurdish political refugee who came to Greece 15 years ago and who has fallen in love to Thessaloniki where he lives the last 13 years. "I had the idea to bring Turkish cuisine into a modern space with oriental touches," says Serhat.

At "Hayat Mikri Poli” you can enjoy your Greek or Turkish coffee made in hot ciders, start your day with a rich Turkish breakfast or taste the exquisite and special dishes of the oriental cuisine (from hünkârbeğendi and lahmacun to kebabs and meatballs) along with your favorite drink or the unique Turkish raki. Delicious snacks and amazing sweets (such as the irresistible künefe) complement the "Hayat Mikri Poli" palette for those who prefer something lighter. An integral part of the shop is the small “Kapalı Carsı” Grocery where you can buy various fine products which are coming directly from Istanbul. On the upper floor there is a special, cozy space suitable for students who want to read and drink their coffee, chat or play table games with their friends.

"Hayat Mikri Poli" is the best choice for those who love oriental cuisine and those looking for something different. Located In the center of Thessaloniki, at 23 Palaion Patron Germanou Street, it attracts the look of passers-by with its special, "different" style and its impressive decoration…It is open from 10:00 am in the morning until late in the evening. Don’t miss to visit it…because it will become your favorite hangout!
